It is true that markets of the Southern Mediterranean presently remain rather risky; however, this risk has been considerably lowered by the establishment of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership (the Barcelona Process). The main objective of the Barcelona Process is the establishment of a free trade area between EU countries and Mediterranean Partners by 2010.
