However, before the installation of vacuum components, they have to be cleaned. One of the most commonly used method is bead blasting. In this method a jet of small beads is projected at high velocity onto the surface to be cleaned. After the repeated use of the beads, they begin to crumble and sharp scraps are stuck into the surface. In this paper we present the results of a study of the surface of stainless steel samples, which were blasted with glass balls. The results showed that after the blasting , the surface is contaminated with bead scraps, which can be removed by further cleaning in an ultrasound bath. Rinsing with water is not sufficient"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Za gradnjo vakuumskih sistemov se kot konstrukcijski material najbolj pogosto uporabljajo raazna nerjavna jekla. Pred vgradnjo elementov v vakuumski sistem je treba le-te očistiti. Ena izmed zelo pogosto uporabljenih metod za čiščenje nerjavnega jekla je peskanje, pri katerem uporabimo curek drobnih zrnc peska, ki z veliko hitrostjo brizga na površino. Po večkratni uporabi kroglic peska se le-te sčasoma razbijejo, nastali ostri drobci pa se radi zarinejo v površino. V članku prikazujemo rezultate preiskav površin vzorcev iz nerjavnega jekla, ki so bili peskani s steklenimi kroglicami. Rezultati so pokazali, da po peskanju ostanejo na površini ostanki drobcev peska, ki pa jih lahko odstranimo z nadaljnjim čiščenjem v ultrazvočni kopeli.
