Method/approach: We used an old Native American legend as a didactic tool to understand the effect of dirt, humidity and high temperature on the deterioration of film archival material. We compared the contributions of various authors and experts in the field of material protection of film material, reviewed reports and carried out research. We conducted an interview with an employee of the televi sion archive. Results: We added parables to the story about the bear hunt in the far north. The bear represents archival material, and the hunters represent dirt, humidity, and high temperature. Archival material is better protected in a clean, cool, and dry environment. In the education of archivists, we can help each other with stories that help to explain the problem of safe film storage more easily. Conclusions/findings: Once we understand the storage problem, we always know how to handle the material. The stories are a good didactic tool for easier understanding of the safe storage of film material. They also help us explain the threats to archives from global warming and environmental change. By digitizing the material, we ensured a safer storage of the originals and easier access to the material. We must also ensure the safe storage of the originals"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Scopo: Lo scopo dell’articolo e quello di mostrare quanto sia importante curare la tutela materiale e la conservazione del materiale d’archivio. Metodo/approccio: Abbiamo utilizzato un’antica leggenda dei nativi americani come strumento didattico per comprendere l’effetto dello sporco, dell’umidita e delle alte temperature sul deterioramento del materiale d’archivio cinematografico. Abbiamo confrontato i contributi di vari autori ed esperti nel campo della protezione materiale del materiale cinematografico, esaminato rapporti e svolto ricerche. Abbiamo condotto un’intervista con un dipendente dell’archivio televisivo. Risultati: abbiamo aggiunto parabole alla storia della caccia all’orso nell’estremo nord. L’orso rappresenta il materiale d’archivio e i cacciatori rappresentano lo sporco, l’umidita e l’alta temperatura. Il materiale d’archivio e meglio protetto in un ambiente pulito, fresco e asciutto. Nella formazione degli archivisti possiamo aiutarci a vicenda con storie che aiutano a spiegare piu facilmente il problema della conservazione sicura dei film. Conclusioni/risultati: una volta compreso il problema dello stoccaggio, sappiamo sempre come gestire il materiale. Le storie sono un valido strumento didattico per comprendere piu facilmente la conservazione sicura del materiale cinematografico. Ci aiutano anche a spiegare le minacce agli archivi derivanti dal riscaldamento globale e dai cambiamenti ambientali. Digitalizzando il materiale, abbiamo garantito una conservazione piu sicura degli originali e un accesso piu semplice al materiale. Dobbiamo anche garantire la conservazione sicura degli originali"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Metodologija: Namen prispevka je pokazati kako pomembna je skrb za materialno varstvo arhivskega gradiva. Metoda: Uporabili smo staro indijansko legendo kot didaktični pripomoček za razumevanje vpliva umazanije, vlage in visoke temperature na propadanje filmskega arhivskega gradiva. Primerjali smo prispevke različnih avtorjev in strokovnjakov s področja materialnega varstva filmskega gradiva, pregledali poročila in opravljene raziskave. Opravili smo intervju z zaposlenim v televizijskem arhivu. Rezultati: Zgodbi o lovu na medveda na daljnem severu smo dodali prispodobe. Medved predstavlja arhivsko gradivo, lovci pa umazanijo, vlago in visoko temperaturo. Arhivsko gradivo je bolje zaščiteno v čistem, hladnem in suhem okolju. Pri izobraževanju arhivistov si lahko pomagamo z zgodbami, ki pomagajo, da lažje pojasnimo problem varne filmske hrambe. Zaključek: Ko problem hrambe razumemo, vedno kako ravnati z gradivom. Zgodbe so dober didaktični pripomoček za lažje razumevanje varne hrambe filmskega gradiva. Pomagajo nam razložiti tudi nevarnosti, ki grozijo arhivom zaradi globalnega segrevanja in spreminjanja okolja. Z digitalizacijo gradiva smo poskrbeli za varnejšo hrambo izvirnikov in za lažji dostop do gradiva.
