Based on the refined functional representation, we proposed a cube model for functional reasoning. We compared the cube model with the systematic model through an illustration. The cube model can be regarded as an improvement of the systematic model. In addition, the application scope of the cube model is discussed. The proposed cube model can be applied to design other systems (except holonomic mechatronic systems).
