Starting from Austin's theory of performatives and Butler's extension of performativity, the paper analyses the linguistic strategies of legalisation advocates: euphemistic renaming, emotional framing, and the accumulation of positively valued terms, illustrated by the Slovenian bill of 2023. Alongside empirical studies on the influence of question wording, it engages the objection that the counter-terminology of opponents is equally performative, resolving it through a criterion of definitional transparency binding both sides. The conclusion grounds the theological dimension: the Christian tradition of the word commits its speakers to truthful language about the end of life. The requirement for truthful naming has ecumenical foundations: as well as being part of the Catholic tradition, it is also supported by the Evangelical and Orthodox traditions</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Razprava o evtanaziji in pomoči pri samomoru se v znatni meri odloča na ravni jezika, preden se začne na ravni etične argumentacije. Prispevek z izhodiščem v Austinovi teoriji performativov in razširitvi pojma performativnosti J. Butler analizira jezikovne strategije zagovornikov uzakonitve: evfemistično preimenovanje, čustveno uokvirjanje in kopičenje vrednostno pozitivnih pojmov, kar ponazori s slovenskim predlogom zakona o legalizaciji samomora s pomočjo iz leta 2023. Zahtevo po resnicoljubnem poimenovanju prispevek utemelji eku-mensko: poleg katoliškega izročila jo potrdita tudi evangeličanska in pravoslavna tradicija</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:DOC-VYLI5T1Y"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:DOC-VYLI5T1Y" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-VYLI5T1Y/46895305-83d4-437f-9c44-5d8e2b1b1d62/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Univerza v Ljubljani, Teološka fakulteta</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-VYLI5T1Y/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-VYLI5T1Y" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
