It is the organic farming that plays a central role in this. In April 2021, the European Commission launched »an Action Plan for the Development of Organic Production« in order to support the development of organic farming. The Commission called on EU member states to include the objectives for the development of organic farming in their CAP strategic plans and to draw up national action plans for the development of organic farming. Recognising the importance and potential of organic farming, the Slovenian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food (the contracting authority) in 2020 acceded to the preparation of the new »Action plan for the development of organic farming until 2027 (APOF)«.
