Standard anterior-posterior radiographs of hip and pelvis of 79 healthy adult female and 21 healthy adult female and 21 healthy adult male hips and pelvises were measured using a computer-assisted system. Data analysis included descriptive statistical methods. A comparison of geometricalparameters of female and male hips and pelvises showed that women had a smaller femoral head and a wider pelvis than men, which seems to accountfor increased articular stress in the female hip. The results suggest that increased articular stress may be one of the reasons for the greater incidence of hip arthrosis in women. There was no statistically significant difference between the left and the right side of the pelvis as concerns the studied parameters relevant to articular stress"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"V tej raziskovalni nalogi smo želeli določiti nekatere geometrijske parametre človeškega okolčja, ki pomembno vplivajo na kolčni sklepni tlak. V ta namen smo z uporabo računalniško podprtega sistema analizirali standardne anteriorno-posteriorne rentgenograme okolčja 79 zdravih odraslih žensk in 21 zdravih odralih moških. Pri analizi podatkov smo uporabili deskriptivne statistične metode. Primerjali smo žensko in moško okolčje. Med drugim smo ugotovili, da je pri ženskah kolčna glavica manjša kot pri moških, medenica paširša. Majhna kolčna glavica in široka medenica pogojujeta visok kolčni sklepni tlak in sta zato ugodni za razvoj artroze v kolčnem sklepu. Sklepamo, da je povišan kolčni tlak pri ženskah eden izmed možnih vzrokov za večjo pogostnost artroze v ženski populaciji glede na moško. Medenice smo primerjalitudi glede na levo in desno stran.
