Many lectures were given, and the literature about it, published throughout the world, was followed closely. It was well known in Slovenia, and a cross-section of the contemporaneous society and politics reveals that the general opinion about it was mostly disapproving and derisive. It was perceived as superstition, deception, a sign of psychological depravity, phantasmagoria, unproven phenomena, blind faith, and as simply wrong. Catholic authors characterised it as contrary to religion and hostile to humanity and God. The liberals believed that people resorted to spiritualism because of social hardships, while the communists saw it as a dangerous poison for the working people, which could undermine their class consciousness. Spiritualism was most favoured in the mining areas</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">O spiritizmu, njegovem pojavu, razvoju in značilnostih so na Slovenskem v dobi meščanstva precej pisali, večkrat predavali in pozorno spremljali literaturo, ki je o njem izhajala v svetu. Spiritizmu so bili najbolj naklonjeni v rudarskih revirjih</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:DOC-UFWIACHK"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:DOC-UFWIACHK" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-UFWIACHK/be7bb386-afe7-482a-8024-d611be4b0dd3/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Inštitut za novejšo zgodovino</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-UFWIACHK/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-UFWIACHK" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
