I set out the structures of thought and the approaches to economic theory, applied work and policy (all intertwined) that I developed in over 50 years of thinking and writing about economic issues. I highlight the contributions and approach of the great economists who have most influenced me, virtually all of whom may be classified under the rubric, Post-Keynesian. They include Keynes himself, Kalecki, Sraffa, Joan Robinson, Kahn, Kaldor, Goodwin and Pasinetti. Behind most of these people must be placed the influence of the classical economists and Marx.
