Lately, research into radiative cooling as one of the possible solutions has been evermore frequent; cooling via radiation provides us a way to emit heat into the cold Cosmos without any energy input. In the first part of the paper the fundamental laws of physics pertaining to the thermodynamics of emitters in nature are presented. Thus, the effects a typical environment on Earth’s surface has on an observed body are identified and mathematically described. Going forward, a theoretical model of a radiation-based cooling system, upon the principles of which most existing projects rely, is explored, ending with a deeper dive into the results and innovations of research made in the field of radiative cooling</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Vse večji vpliv podnebnih sprememb na okolje podaja zahtevo po energetsko učinkovitejših hladilnih sistemih. V zadnjih letih je vedno pogostejši predmet raziskav ohlajanje s sevanjem; predvsem zato, ker dopušča oddajanje toplote z zemeljskega površja v hladni Kozmos brez potrebe po dovajanju energije. V prvem delu članka so predstavljeni zakoni, ki določajo termodinamiko seval v naravi. Z njihovo pomočjo so opredeljeni in matematično opisani vplivi tipične okolice na telo na zemeljskem površju.
