Following the principles of this paradigm, the doctoral dissertation proposes a newly developed human-centered smart manual assembly system that considers ergonomic recommendations and reduces the risk of musculoskeletal disorders. The smart system includes a smart manual assembly workstation with implemented smart tools and technologies to self-configure the workstation, i.e., the height of the workbench, the distance and inclination of the grab containers, the intensity and direction of the lighting, and the rotation of the assembly nest. The entire manual assembly workstation is controlled by a smart algorithm that adapts the manual assembly workstation according to the gender and anthropometric data of the individual worker, the complexity of the assembly process and the characteristics of the product. The algorithm guides the worker through the assembly structure of the product using interactive digital instructions and a laser pointer that shows the worker the necessary components for each assembly step. The efficiency of the proposed smart assembly system was verified in a laboratory environment with time and error analysis and ergonomic suitability in a virtual environment, where we performed a simulation of the assembly process for the individual worker for each configuration of a smart assembly system, focusing on forward reach and reach range. The results of the proposed assembly system support the (redesign) of the manual assembly process with the aim of providing an efficient and ergonomically suitable workplace for each worker, thus increasing the productivity and efficiency of the production process</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Industrija 4.0 uvaja pametne rešitve v celotno dobavno verigo podjetij, vključno z ročno montažo, kjer je cilj zagotoviti krajši čas delovnega cikla, povečati produktivnost in kakovost izdelkov ter proizvodnih procesov ob najmanjših stroških. Rezultati predlaganega montažnega sistema podpirajo (pre)oblikovanje procesa ročne montaže s ciljem zagotoviti učinkovito in ergonomsko primerno delovno mesto za vsakega delavca ter posledično povečanjem produktivnosti in učinkovitosti proizvodnega procesa</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">visokošolska dela</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">theses and dissertations</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q1266946" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:DOC-RN90FFN9"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:DOC-RN90FFN9" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-RN90FFN9/ed80-d4-c54096e673d595da9a-a620b-c98/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Univerza v Ljubljani, Fakulteta za strojništvo</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-RN90FFN9/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-RN90FFN9" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
