It is a promising molecule for the treatment of autoimmune diseases. Studies in patients, who have included curcumin in their therapy, have shown a reduction in the severity of symptoms and easier maintenance of remissions. Additional studies would be required to determine effective standard doses, although curcumin is considered a fairly safe molecule. Currently, the biggest challenge is its poor bioavailability, as curcumin has very poor absorption and is metabolized rapidly. In order to overcome this issue and use curcumin as a therapeutic agent, different companies are developing formulations with new technologies, especially formulations with nanoparticles</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Kurkumin je glavna biološko aktivna snov v korenini kurkume in zanj je značilno protivnetno delovanje. Proizvajalci vpeljujejo nove tehnologije, kot so formulacije z nanodelci, da bi rešili težave, ki se pojavljajo v terapevtski rabi</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:DOC-Q3H81E0H"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:DOC-Q3H81E0H" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-Q3H81E0H/5c8fdbe2b4--8921-91a-ee436de08a32e74/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-Q3H81E0H/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-Q3H81E0H" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
