Historical examples, such as Hungary’s trauma after the Treaty of Trianon, illustrate how unresolved national traumas perpetuate dysfunctional behaviors, victimhood narratives, and rigid group identities, shaping ongoing political discourse and social division. The article further explores the trauma-healing potential of first-person narratives that engage openly with vulnerability, shame, and ethical self-examinati-on. Such narratives offer an alternative to collective avoidance by challenging entrenched victimhood, interrupting cycles of self-pity, and fostering more self-critical, ethically grounded identities. The article concludes that collective recovery calls for a national figure who demonstrates how victims can also confront their own complicity, as exemplified by Boris Pahor in Necropolis</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Članek obravnava koncept kolektivne travme in na podlagi konceptualne primerjave, ki je utemeljena v psiholoških raziskavah, zagovarja tezo, da za izogibanje soočenju z bolečo resničnostjo tako posamezniki kot tudi skupnosti uporabljajo podobne obrambne mehanizme in čustvene strategije. Takšne pripovedi predstavljajo alternativo kolektivnemu zanikanju, saj izzivajo zakoreninjene narative žrtvovanja, prekinjajo cikle samopomilovanja ter spodbujajo nastanek bolj samokritičnih in etično utemeljenih identitet. Članek zaključuje razmišljanje, da kolektivno okrevanje potrebuje neki osrednji nacionalni lik, ki pokaže, kako se lahko tudi žrtve soočijo z lastno krivdo, kot to prikazuje Boris Pahor v Nekropoli</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:DOC-PQGBB5M7"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:DOC-PQGBB5M7" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-PQGBB5M7/c4df41f2-b6da-4817-9911-e789601914ed/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Univerza v Ljubljani, Teološka fakulteta</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-PQGBB5M7/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-PQGBB5M7" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
