Special attention has been given to vulnerable groups, such as children and adolescents in the period of their intensive growth and development, including the development of healthy living habits. Children acquire basic nutritional habits from their parents and community at a very early stage of their lives, and these have an important impact on their healthlater in life. In early 2011, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Slovenia adopted dietary guidelines for infants which include basic principlesof nutrition in the childćs first year of life.
