Environmentally responsible management, as the highest level of environmental protection in companies, is being deployed to various extents. The present study classifies Slovenian manufacturing companies according to the intensity of environment protection and the establishment of factors influencing companies' attitude toward environmental protection. In both groups of companies, substantial changes were identified concerning both the recognition of factors and the intensity of measures undertaken. Okoljsko odgovorno poslovodenje kot najvišja stopnja varovanja okolja v podjetjih se v slovenskih proizvodnih podjetjih izvaja v različnem obsegu. V prispevku so slovenska proizvodna podjetja razvrščena v skupine glede na intenzivnost varstva okolja in glede zaznavanja dejavnikov, ki vplivajo na ravnanje podjetij pri varstvu okolja. Pri obeh oblikovanih skupinah podjetij so ugotovljene razlike pri zaznavah dejavnikov in intenzivnosti ukrepov.
