The importance of postmodern philosophy, which is understood as the democratisation of personal choices and their life processes, is analysed. Postmodern views correlate with the inclusive societal culture and social cohesion, which are important work areas of social work. The paradigm shift to postmodern social work is expressed in the abandoning or complementation of traditional concepts, which were based on paternalism, while social factors of exclusion were transformed into deficits of individuals and personal weaknesses. This is a study of modern discourse with the emphasis on scientific criticism of universal and absolute - traditional and modern - mentality. The article takes a critical approach towards the reproach of postmodern science that the radicalisation of reality, truth, and morale pluralisation leads to an uncontrollable social chaos"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Predstavljen je pomen razumevanja postmoderne filozofije pri reševanju problemov, ki so posledica sprememb vsakdanjega življenja, individualizacije življenjskih potekov, razpada primarnega (družinskega) življenjskega sveta in pomanjkanja materialnih in osebnih virov podpore in pomoči, ki so bili v predmoderni družbi domena družine in lokalne skupnosti. Prispevek se osredotoča na pomembnost postmoderne filozofije, ki jo razumemo kot demokratizacijo osebnih izbir ljudi in njihovih življenjskih potekov. Postmoderni nazori sovpadajo z inkluzivno družbeno kulturo in socialno kohezijo, ki sta pomembni delovni področji socialnega dela. Paradigmatski premik v postmoderno socialno delo se kaže v opustitvi ali dopolnitvi tradicionalnih konceptov, ki so temeljili na paternalizmu, družbene dejavnike izključenosti pa so preobrazili v individualne deficite in šibkosti človeka. Gre za študijo modernističnega diskurza s poudarkom na znanstveni kritiki univerzalistične in absolutistične - tradicionalne in modernistične - miselnosti.
