A short description of their morphology, bionomy, description of damages, possible misidentifications, hosts, their threat to forests, causes of their outbreaks and previous gradations in Slovenia are given. Na kratko je prikazana njihova morfologija, bionomija, opis poškodb, morebitne zamenjave, gostitelji, ogroženost sestojev, vzroki za gradacije ter dosedanje gradacije jelovih podlubnikov pri nas.
