Forest management requires planning, harmonization and intense interventions both in the population of the cloven hoof animals and tree and shrubs part of the forest. Lack of harmonization of the numbers of herbivorous cloven hoof game and the nutritional capacity of the changed forest in many places generates damage andharm in the forests. The most damages occur in the young growth, both in the natural and the planted one. The most important index of harmonization of the nutritional capacity of the environment and the number of the herbivorous cloven hoof game is the ability of the regeneration of the forest and the key tree species in the given environment. Where the effects of the cloven hoof game impede or even prevent forest regeneration, the young growth must be protected. The choice of the protection depends on the forest management goal,species of the originator of the damages, extent of the damage and economical evaluation and justifying. The article presents diverse kinds of young growth protection, their advantages and disadvantages, adequacy for an individual protection purpose, requirements for their technical execution and their economical evaluation"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Rastlinojeda parkljasta divjad je naravni sestavni del gozdnega ekosistema, torej ji tudi v spremenjenem okolju gospodarskega gozda pripada ustrezno mesto. Gospodarjenje z gozdom zahteva načrtovanje, usklajevanje in intenzivno poseganje tako v populacijo rastlinojedih parkljarjev kot v drevesni ter grmovni del gozda. Zaradi mnogo kje neusklajenega številčnega stanja rastlinojede parkljaste divjadi s prehranskimi zmožnostmi spremenjenih gozdov, prihaja do poškodb in posledično škod v gozdovih. Največ poškodb in škod je v mladovjih, tako naravnih, kot tistih osnovanih s sadnjo. Najpomembnejši kazalec usklajenosti prehranskih zmožnosti okolja in rastlinojede parkljaste divjadi je sposobnost obnove gozda in ključnih drevesnih vrst v danem okolju. Tam kjer je obnova gozda zaradi vplivov rastlinojedih parkljarjev motena ali celo onemogočena, je treba mladovje zaščititi. Kakšno vrsto zaščite bomo uporabili je odvisno od gozdnogospodarskega cilja, vrste povzročitelja poškodb, obsega poškodb ter ekonomske presoje in upravičenosti.
