Each member ofthe organisation can play an important part in this respect, not to mention the important role of head nurses of health and social welfare institutions. Their modified way of thinking and determination could add significantly to the introduction of desirable changes. Aim: The goal of the study was to determine how nurses should reason in order to achieve changes in the field ofnursing care, using Ovsenik sinusoidal model of the human action reflexivity. Methods: Participating in the quantitative research were 99 head nurses from Slovene hospitals, health centres and social care institutions. A questionnaire was developed specifically for this purpose and Ovsenik sinusoidal model was applied. Results: The research results show that there are a lot of inadequacies in the nurses' managerial system in the health and social care institutions: educational structure, preparation for the post, competences of the head nurses, prformance of managerial functions. Positive organisational changes will be achieved primarily on the condition that the head nurses adopt different approaches and different thinking</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Izhodišča: Vsaka organizacija se mora čim hitreje odzivati na spremembe, ki jih povzroča okolje ali organizacija sama. Pri tem je pomemben vsak posameznikv organizaciji, prav tako tudi glavne medicinske sestre zdravstvenihin socialnovarstvenih zavodov, ki lahko s spremembo lastnega razmišljanja in hotenja pripomorejo k uspešnosti sprememb. Namen: Na osnovi Ovsenikovega sinusoidnega modela človeške akcijske refleksivnosti želimo ugotoviti, kako morajo glavne medicinske sestre razmišljati, da bi dosegle spremembe v zdravstveni negi. Metode: Raziskava ima značilnosti kvantitativne raziskave. V njej je sodelovalo 99 glavnih medicinskih sester slovenskih bolnišnic, zdravstvenih domov in socialnovarstvenih zavodov. Za potrebe raziskave smo razvili vprašalnik in uporabili Ovsenikov sinusoidni model kot osnovo za spremembo razmišljanja glavnih medicinskih sester za doseganje sprememb v zdravstveni negi. Rezultati: Raziskava je pokazala, da je v sistemumenedžmenta glavnih medicinskih sester v zdravstvenih in socialnovarstvenih zavodih še veliko pomanjkljivosti - izobrazbena struktura, priprave na zasedbo delovnega mesta, kompetence glavnih medicinskih sester, izvajanje menedžmentskih funkcij.
