The currently effective legal regulatons in Slovenia in the field of environmental protection were compared with the EU standards and the standards and regulations of the WHO. The air and the waters as the most polluted landscape elements were chosen as the indicators of environmental quality. The comparison has revealed that the Slovenian regulations for waters are better coordinated with the EU directions; the Slovenian legislation is more demanding for the concentrations of heavy metals in the water (arsenic, cadmium). The Slovenian regulations for the air are also stricter for heavy metals (lead) but more tolerant for the remaining parameters (SO2, NOx, CO, O3). Therefore, the most urgent changes in this field of Slovenian environmental protection legislation will have to be done just now when Slovenia is in the period of adapting to and joining the EU members. However, this means a thorough of legislation which will certainly not pass without shocks (Okoljska ..., 1998)</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Namen prispevka je s primerjavo okoljevarstvenih zakonodaj oceniti trajnostni sonaravni razvoj, ki ga zadnja leta poudarjamo tudi v Sloveniji. Trenutno veljavne zakonske predpise Slovenije s področja okoljevarstva smo primerjali z normativi Evropske zveze (v nadaljevanju EZ) ter standardi in predpisi Svetovne zdravstvene organizacije (WHO). Zato bodo na tem področju slovenske okoljevarstvene zakonodaje najnujnejše spremembe ravno sedaj, ko smo v obdobju prilagajanja in priključevanja članicam EZ, kar pomeni vsestransko prenovo, ki ne bo potekala brez pretresov (Okoljska pristopna strategija ..., 1998)</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:DOC-NGRX3W5Z"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:DOC-NGRX3W5Z" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-NGRX3W5Z/e525e46b-2fb4-42f0-be0e-c279abc9b70e/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Zveza geografov Slovenije</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-NGRX3W5Z/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-NGRX3W5Z" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
