It acts as the setting regulator preventing flash setting due to fast reaction of aluminate with water. Since there is no natural source of gypsum in Slovenia, imported gypsum is used in cement plant. On the other hand in some industries in Slovenia chemical byproduct gypsum remains as a waste material in laarge quantities. For example, in the production of titan dioxide in Cinkarna Celje, so called titanogypsum is byproduced and in the process of desulfurisation in thermo power plant TE Šoštanj the flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) gypsum is formed. By using at least a part of waste chemical gypsum in cement industry the disposal problems in concerned industries will be limited and, on the other hand, the reduced production costs in cement plant can be expected. In the presentation the possibilities for the use of FGD gypsum and titanogypsum in the cement industry are discussed. In the experimental part of work it was proved, that both forms could be appropriate substitutes for the imporated natural gypsum. Finally we establish also conditions for the actual introduction of chemical byproduct gypsum in the cement industry</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Kalcijev sulfat v različnih oblikah je obvezen dodatek vsem vrstam portlandskega cementa. Potreben je za regulacijo vezanja oziroma za preprečevanje trenutnega vezanja pri hidrataciji. Naravnih virov sadre v SLoveniji ni, zato cementarne to surovino uvažajo. Po drugi strani v nekaterih slovenskih podjetjih nastajajo velike količine odpadne kemične sadre. Tako na aprimer pri proizvodnji titanovega dioksida v Cinkarni Celje nastaja titaanova sadra, pri razžveplanju dimnih plinov v TE Šoštanj energetska sadra. Zamenjava naravne sadre s kemičnimi v cementni industriji, ki je v nekaterih evropskih cementarnah že vpeljana, pomeni zmanjševanje problema odlaganja tovrstnih materialov, za cementarne pa tudi možno pocenitev proizvodnje. V prispevku obravnavamo možnosti za uporabo dveh vrst kemičnih sader (titanova in energetska sadra) za proizvodnjo cementa. V eksperimentalnem delu smo potrdili, da bi bili obe oblikiprimerno nadomestilo uvožene naravne sarde.
