But hydrodynamic laws in water cause human body to work differently as on land. Those adaptations could affect balance training prosperity. The aim of this study was to compare land-based versus water-based balance training and to evaluate effects of wobble board exercise on static and dynamic balance and jumping ability. Thirty-one participants were divided in three groups; land-based (KOP), water-based (VOD) and control (KON). Before and after 7-weeks of wobble board exercise single leg stance body sway parameters (static balance), y-test (dynamic balance), squat jump and countermovement jump (jumping ability) were measured. We used ANCOVA to analyse the results. Significant group x time results were found for counter movement jump (p=0,029). Post hoc test showed significant differences between KOP and KON while differences between VOD and KON showed tendency towards VOD. We found no effects of exercise on static and dynamic balance although we found some differences inside groups before and after exercise in KOP and VOD for dynamic balance. We assume wobble board exercise is effective method for improving jumping ability and consequently stiffness of joints. Since we found no differences between land-based and water-based exercise both environments can be used for training</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Vadba ravnotežja v vodi predstavlja varnejšo alternativno vadbi ravnotežja na kopnem. Ker v vodnem okolju veljajo hidrodinamični fizikalni zakoni, je gibanje in delovanje človeškega telesa v vodi prilagojeno. Ker bi to lahko vplivalo na uspešnost vadbe za ravnotežje, nas je zanimalo, ali prihaja do razlik vadbe v vodi in vadbe na kopnem. Namen raziskave je bil primerjati dve obliki vadbe za ravnotežje ter ugotoviti njihov vpliv na statično ravnotežje, dinamično ravnotežje in odrivno moč. V raziskavo je bilo vključenih 31 merjencev, ki so bili razdeljeni v 3 skupine. Ena izmed skupin je vadila na kopnem (KOP), druga v vodi (VOD), tretja pa je služila kot kontrolna skupina (KON). Pred vadbeno intervencijo smo izvedli standardizirane meritve statičnega ravnotežja v stoji na eni nogi z zaprtimi in odprtimi očmi s pomočjo tenziometrične plošče, kjer smo kasneje izmerili še odrivno moč. S pomočjo y-testa smo izmerili dinamično ravnotežje. Vadbena intervencija je trajala 7 tednov. Za ugotavljanje razlik znotraj skupin smo uporabili t-test za odvisne vzorce, za ugotavljanje vpliva skupine in časa pa smo uporabili analizo kovariance. Vadba je imela vpliv na odrivno moč (p = 0,029), medtem ko vpliva na dinamično in statično ravnotežje nismo zasledili. Prav tako nismo zasledili razlik v testih med VOD in KOP. Zaključujemo, da je vadba za ravnotežje na ravnotežnih deskah uporabna pri treningu, ko želimo izboljšati odrivno moč in togost sklepov.
