Owing to a comprehensive volume of information, we analysed individual age groups that were first combined in three-year periods, namely from 7 to 9, from 10 to 12, from 13 to 15 and from 16 to 18 years, and separately a group of 6-year olds since 2008. We employed the XT value to show physical fitness of children and adolescents, i.e. standardised average value of T values of all eight measurement tasks of motor abilities within the SLOfit system in the abovementioned period, separately by gender and age groups. We established that in all age groups primary and secondary school pupils had lower results of physical fitness in 2017 than in 1990, i.e. by 1.7 % on average. The opposite trend was established in girls, as they had 4.1 % higher level of physical ability in 2017 than in 1990, on average. The trends of changes in motor efficiency differ considerably by age group. The development trends of boys aged 6 to 9 and 13 to 15 are more positive than development trends of age groups from 10 to 12 and from 16 to 18 years. The development trends of girls aged 10 to 12 and 13 to 15 are more positive than development trends of age groups from 7 to 9 and from 16 to 18 years. We strived to explain these changes with different educational policy measures over the past 30 years, such as increase or decrease in the number of physical education classes, selective introduction of the expanded extra-curricular programme of sports activities, increase or decrease in the secondary-school training group norms, inclusion or exclusion of physical education teachers in different triads of primary school as well as development or stagnation of material conditions at different levels of schooling</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">V pričujočem prispevku predstavljamo primerjavo telesnega in gibalnega razvoja otrok in mladine med letoma 1990 in 2017. Zaradi velike obsežnosti informacij smo analizo pripravili tako, da smo posamezne starostne skupine združevali v triletja, in sicer od 7 do 9, 10 do 12, 13 do 15, 16 do 18 let starosti, in posebej skupino 6-letnikov od leta 2008 naprej. Za prikaz telesne učinkovitosti otrok in mladostnikov smo uporabili XT vrednost, tj. standardizirano povprečno vrednost T vrednosti vseh osmih merskih nalog gibalnih sposobnosti SLOfit sistema v omenjenem obdobju, ločeno po spolu in starostnih skupinah. Ugotavljamo, da so v vseh starostnih skupinah učenci oziroma dijaki v gibalnih sposobnostih v letu 2017 v povprečju za 1,7 % na nižji ravni, kot so bili leta 1990. Pri dekletih ugotavljamo nasprotni trend, saj so dekleta v letu 2017 v povprečju za 4,1 % na višji ravni gibalne učinkovitosti kot so bile leta 1990. Trendi sprememb gibalne učinkovitosti, so glede na starostne skupine zelo različni. Razvojni trendi fantov v starosti od 6. do 9. leta starosti in od 13. do 15. leta starosti so bolj pozitivni od razvojnih trendov starostnih skupin od 10. do 12. in od 16. do 18. leta starosti. Razvojni trendi deklet v starosti od 10. do 12. leta in od 13. do 15. leta so bolj pozitivni od razvojnih trendov starostnih skupin od 7. do 9. leta in od 16. do 18. leta starosti.
