Then we prove that the hermitian operators on a complex Banach space with a hyperorthogonal basis span a type I ?$W^\ast$?-algebra, and a certain generalization of this result. We also find some sufficient conditions for the group of all linear isometries of a Banach space to be a Banach-Lie group in the norm topologyNajprej obravnavamo izometrične reprezentacije (ohranjajoče enoto) ?$W^\ast$?-algeber (še posebej faktorjev tipa I) na Banachovih prostorih. Dokažemo, da vsi hermitski operatorji na kompleksnem Banachovem prostoru s hiperortogonalno bazo generirajo ?$W^\ast$?-algebro tipa I, ter neko posplošitev tega rezultata.
