The problematic is analysed through various cases drawn from architecture and urban planning where the aesthetic structure i.e. artistic expression predominates over the needs of individuals. In such cases the designer follows the idea: 'If the body does not correspond to the needs of architectural design, so much worse for the body'. The problem of so-called body unfitted architecture can be recognised in inappropriate residential conditions where the enforcement of specific aesthetic requirements in space can represent a huge physical and emotional stress on the residents. Such spaces often give rise to extreme and unusual life situations that require special adaptation procedures from the individuals andmay provoke psychophysical changes that are reflected in experiences of pain. The article also presents the possible resistance strategies of individuals against attempts to decontextualise or standardise their residential experiences. One of the many characteristic examples of individual resistance against one-dimensional spatio-aesthetic practices is represented in individualisation i.e. the personalisation of body unfitted architecture. The personalisation of body unfitted architecture requires the transformation and alteration of the residential environment according to individual needs, even though this leads to the partial destruction of aesthetically unique architectural structures</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Članek se ukvarja z načini in procesi vključevanja posameznikovih vsakdanjih telesnih življenjskih potreb v različne modele družbenoprostorskih estetskih praks. Najbolj značilen primer odpora proti enodimenzionalnim prostorskoestetskim praksam je individualizacija oz. personalizacija neživljenjske arhitekture oz. spreminjanje in predrugačenje bivalnega okolja, pa čeprav za ceno rušenja edinstvenih estetskih načel in zakonitosti</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:DOC-IFT5DFBT"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:DOC-IFT5DFBT" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-IFT5DFBT/b36a79a3-6645-46e4-9e63-ba259f9aec17/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Slovensko sociološko društvo</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-IFT5DFBT/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-IFT5DFBT" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
