Littell vers le slovene| entre la tradition et innovation|Military vocabulary and the vocabulary of war are part of specialized as well as general lexicon. Such language was present in Slovene even before the creation of the Slovene army in 1991. In this context the systematic development of military terminology was left to enthusiastic individuals. Due to the lack of terminological reference works, the creation of military vocabulary was in the hands of people who experienced military service and war, as well as writers and translators. But can lite-rature present a reliable source for terminological research? We also try to answer this question.Our research is focused on the lexis concerning war, the denomination of mi-litary functions and ideologies in the context of the Second World War as they appear in the French original and Slovene translation of Bienveillantes (The Kindly Ones) by J. Littell (2006, 2010). Its war lexis is compared to that of some Slovene original works and translations concerning the Second World War. In addition, the monolingual corpus Gigafida is taken into account and the question of the (in)stability of prescriptive norms of Slovene is discussedLe vocabulaire de guerre et de l'armée fait aussi bien partie du lexique général que spécialisé, on pourrait aussi parler des jargonismes, était présent en slovene bien avant la création de l'armée slovene qui n'a eu lieu qu'a partir de 1991. Les soins du développement systématique de la terminologie militaire étaient confinés a des individus enthousiastes. Faute d'ouvrages de référence terminologiques, dans de nombreux cas, la création du vocabulaire passait par le vécu des gens, de la littérature ou meme de la traduction. Mais est-ce que la traduction est toujours une source fiable pour l'aide terminologique ? C'est la question que nous nous posons dans la suite. Nous avons focalisé notre attention au lexique concernant la guerre, les dénominations des fonctions militaires et les idéologies de la 2e guerre mondiale tels qu'ils apparaissent dans l'original et la traduction slovene des Bienveillantes de J. Littell (2006, 2010). Nous comparons ce lexique avec les originaux slovenes et les traduc-tions d'autres ouvres concernant la 2e guerre mondiale ainsi que le corpus mono-lingue Gigafida et l'examinons en fonction des normes linguistiques du sloveneVojni in vojaški besednjak sta tako del splošne kot specializirane leksike, morda bi celo lahko govorili o žargonizmih. Ta leksika je bila v slovenščini prisotna že precej pred ustanovitvijo slovenske vojske leta 1991. Skrb za sistematičen razvoj vojaške ter-minologije so prevzeli zavzeti posamezniki. Ob pomanjkanju ustreznih terminoloških priročnikov je oblikovanje slovarja potekalo na osnovi izkušenj vojakov, opisov v lite-rarnih delih in prevodov. Pa je prevod lahko sploh ustrezen vir za terminologijo? To vprašanje si zastavljamo v tem prispevku.Osredotočamo se na vojno leksiko, poimenovanje vojaških funkcij in ideologij 2. svetovne vojne, kot se odslikavajo v slovenskem prevodu romana Sojenice (Les Bienveillantes) J. Littella (2006, 2010).
