It follows their development from the renaissance academies and the Landeskunde tradition through enlightenment salons and Austrian regional museum societies up to the development of the Slovene national archaeological society during the time of socialist Yugoslavia. It highlights the relationship between science and the wider society, as it emphasises the importance of different sociopolitical breaks for the development of Slovene archaeology. It also brings an overview of the development of a national archaeological society as a part of the Archaeological Society of Yugoslavia and the importance of the latter as an incubator of different national archaeological schools of the former Yugoslavia. This chronology can also be seen as an introduction for the second part of the article that will deal in the development of the Slovene Archaeological Society during the time of Yugoslavia (1971-1991)"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Članek predstavlja institucionalni razvoj strokovnih arheoloških združenj. Sega od začetkov, ko je razvoj arheologije potekal v kontekstu renesančnih akademij in tradicije domoznanstva, prek razsvetljenskih salonov, avstrijskih regionalnih muzejskih društev do razvoja slovenskega nacionalnega arheološkega društva v kontekstu socialistične Jugoslavije. Izpostavlja pomen odnosa med znanostjo in širšo družbo, saj poudarja pomen, ki so ga imeli sociopolitični prelomi na razvoj slovenske arheologije. Članek prinaša tudi pregled razvoja nacionalnega arheološkega društva v okviru delovanja Arheološkega društva Jugoslavije in pomena, ki ga je to imelo kot inkubator nacionalnih arheoloških šol na območju nekdanje Jugoslavije.
