The occurence of heart and circulatory diseases is to a great extent the consequence of risk factors: smoking, excessive weight, physical inactivity, unhealthy diet, high blood pressure, diabetes etc. In the spreading of information about the dangers of separate risk factors to clients/patients, health education plays the key role. Health education has to be carried out onpermanent basis of health care: primary, secundary and tertiary in all periods of life (childhood, adulthood, old age). Health education is a lengthyprocess in the frames of which clients/patients acquire adequate knowledge, information, skills which enable them to lead a healthy life. Successful health education depends on the following: forms, objectives, principles, motivation, programmes, methods and technique.
