With the purpose to identify the effects on operation a comprehensive analysis of parameters, processes and mechanisms vital for structure that can assure functionality for the envisioned applications was required to be done. First step within the analysis was to identify the characteristics for functionality, the air-gap geometry, essential for motor operation and its feasible range. The effects are divided among groups as loads, housing stiffness, element tolerances and production technology. Each of the affecting group has a detailed analysis made on a in-wheel motor showcase, a proposed methodology for robust definition of dimensions or parameters and numerical or experimental validation on individual components and final assemblies on in-wheel motors of different types. The developed model is intended to be used for reducing the design time and increase the quality of mechanical designs of in-wheel motors"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Pričujoče delo predlaga uporabo namensko razvitega robustnega modela za snovanje mehanske strukture družine kolesnih elektromotorjev. Z namenom identifikacije vplivov je potrebno izvesti celovito analizo parametrov, procesov in mehanizmov, ključnih za izdelavo strukture, ki bo zagotavljala funkcionalnost za predvideno območje uporabe. Tekom analize smo se sprva srečali z identifikacijo karakteristike za funkcionalnost elektromotorja, to je geometrija fizične zračne reže, ki je ključna za delovanje in mora biti za zanesljivo doseganje želenih lastnosti elektromotorja v vnaprej določenem območju. Vplivi na karakteristiko so razdeljeni med obremenitve, togost ohišja, tolerance elementov in tehnologijo izdelave.
