But there are troubles. Forest management requires planning, harmonization and intense interventions both in the population of the cloven hoof animals and tree and shrubs part of the forest. Lack of harmonization of the numbers of herbivorous cloven hoof game and the nutritional capacity of the changed forest in many places generates damage and harm in the forests. The most damages occur in the young growth representing a large part of the nutrition of the herbivorous cloven hoof game. The most important index of harmonization of the nutritional capacity ofthe environment and the number of the herbivorous cloven hoof game is the ability of the regeneration of the forest and the key tree species in the given environment. Harmonization and integral forest ecosystem management is ademanding task. The integral forest management also comprises economical evaluation of the planned measures. We must be prudent and economical and lookfor integral solutions while planning and executing. Planning the measureswe should by no means forget to plan an appropriate numerical, sex andage structure of the herbivorous cloven hoof game; with our forest management measures we must create and improve its adequate nutritional and habitational conditions. The article briefly describes individual cloven hoofherbivore, its habitational and nutritional characteristics and types of damage it causes in the forest. The article also presents diverse kinds of young growth protection, their advantages and disadvantages, requirements for their technical execution and their economical evaluationRastlinojeda parkljasta divjad je naravni sestavni del gozdnega ekosistema, torej ji tudi v spremenjenem okolju gospodarskega gozda pripada ustrezno mesto. Pri tem pa ne gre brez težav. Gospodarjenje z gozdom je povezano z načrtovanjem, usklajevanjem in intenzivnim poseganjem v populacijo rastlinojedih parkljarjev pa tudi v drevesni ter grmovni del gozda. Zaradi mnogokje neusklajenega številčnega stanja rastlinojede parkljaste divjadi s prehranskimi zmožnostmi spremenjenih gozdov nastajajo poškodbe in posledično škoda v gozdovih. Največ poškodb in škode je v mladovjih, ki zavzema velik delež v prehrani rastlinojedih parkljarjev. Najpomembnejši kazalnik usklajenosti prehranskih zmožnosti okolja in rastlinojede parkljaste divjadi je sposobnost obnove gozda in ključnih drevesnih vrst v danem okolju. Usklajevanje in celostno upravljanje z gozdnim ekosistemom je zahtevno. Celostno gospodarjenje z gozdom vključuje tudi ekonomsko presojo načrtovanih ukrepov. Pri načrtovanju in izvedbi moramo biti preudarni in varčni ter iskati celostne rešitve. Pri načrtovanju ukrepov nikakor ne smemo pozabiti na načrtovanje primerne številčne, spolne in starostne strukture rastlinojede parkljaste divjadi, ki pa ji moramo s svojimi gozdnogospodarskimi ukrepi ustvarjati in izboljševati ustrezne prehranske in bivalne možnosti. V prispevku na kratko opisujem posameznega parkljastega rastlinojeda, njegove bivalne in prehranske značilnosti ter vrste poškodb, ki jih povzroča v gozdu.
