The final stroke seemed to be the internationalization of capital accounts. Especially the latter does not mean a new choice of macroeconomic policies in industrial countries, but is rather a consequence of technological change causing change in business practice. Growing productivity has pushed the requirements for bigger markets and this development was followed by the emergence of supranational companies. With respect to the development of international capital flows, the authors analyse the recent resurrection of mercantilistic real policy in national states and its possible consequencesKeynesianska država se je izkazala za neučinkovito ter je v poznih sedemdesetih letih potonila pod težo rastočih deficitov in inflacije. Milostni strel je predstavljala internacionalizacija kapitalskih računov. Ta ni bila toliko izbor nacionalnih ekonomskih politik, kolikor jo je povzročil tehnološki napredek z znanimi posledicami za poslovno prakso. Rast produktivnosti je zahtevala večje trge, čemur je sledil razvoj nadnacionalnih gospodarskih družb.
