The article is based on the findings of the first author's master thesis \"The road safety problem of elderly drivers\", within which a comprehensive analysis of the behaviour of elderly passenger car drivers was conducted. The aim of the article is to analyse the characteristics of traffic accidents involving elderly drivers and to examine the influence of infrastructural factors and behavioural patterns on their safety. The research is based on a combination of traffic accident analysis and an experimental study, which includes a participant survey and a driving simulator trial using also eye-tracking glasses, where elderly drivers are compared with other age groups, enabling a comprehensive assessment of driver behaviour. The results indicate that elderly drivers have specific limitations in perception and information processing, which should be considered and systematically incorporated into the design of traffic infrastructure and road safety measures"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Prometna varnost starejših voznikov je pomembno področje, ki postaja vse bolj izrazito zaradi naraščajočega deleža starejšega prebivalstva in s tem povezanih sprememb v zaznavanju, odločanju ter odzivanju v prometu. Prispevek temelji na izsledkih magistrskega dela Problematika varnosti starejših voznikov motornih vozil v prometu, v okviru katerega je bila izvedena celovita analiza vedenja starejših voznikov osebnih vozil. Namen prispevka je analizirati značilnosti prometnih nesreč starejših voznikov ter preučiti vpliv infrastrukturnih dejavnikov in vedenjskih vzorcev na njihovo varnost. Raziskava temelji na kombinaciji analize prometnih nesreč starejših voznikov in eksperimentalnega dela, ki vključuje anketiranje udeležencev ter vožnjo v simulatorju skupaj z uporabo očal za sledenje pogleda, pri čemer so starejši vozniki primerjani z drugimi starostnimi skupinami, kar omogoča celostno obravnavo vedenja voznikov.
