The aim of this study was to assess whether there are differences in the focal vision fixations to different areas of the opponent in relation to return performance and if there are relevant correlations between visual fixations to different areas on the opponent. Focal vision fixations were measured in nine junior and five elite tennis players during serve return. For each participant ten superior, ten inferior and ten returns resulting in error were randomly chosen. Differences between areas of visual fixations were studied using Kruskal-Wallis test and post-hoc sign test. Correlations were studied using Sperman correlation coefficient. Differences in focal vision fixations between returns of different category in elite tennis players were found for the area of vertical ball flight and lower body in the follow through phase. In junior tennis players, differences were found for visual fixations to racquet hand in the preparation phase and the throwing hand and hips during upwards toss phase. Important correlations were identified between visual fixations to different areas of the opponent but were different in the two groups of tennis players"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Učinkovito vidno zaznavanje je pomembno za zgodnejše prepoznavanje smeri leta žoge med vračanjem teniškega servisa. V tej študiji smo želeli proučiti, ali so razlike v usmerjenosti vidne pozornosti na posamezne predele tekmeca med različno uspešnimi reterni ter ali so med opazovanimi predeli nasprotnika povezave. V študiji je sodelovalo 9 mladinskih in 5 vrhunskih teniških igralcev, pri katerih smo med vračanjem servisa s sledilci pogleda spremljali trajanje in usmerjenost fokusa fokalnega vida. Za vsakega preiskovanca smo naključno izbrali 10 taktično uspešnih, 10 taktično manj uspešnih in 10 reternov, v katerih je preiskovanec naredil napako. Razlike v trajanju usmerjenosti vidne pozornosti med tremi vrstami reternov smo preverjali z uporabo Kruskal- -Wallisovega testa in post-hoc testa predznaka, povezave med pozornostjo, usmerjeno na posamezna področja tekmeca, pa s Spermanovim korelacijskim koeficientom. Razlike v usmerjenosti pogleda pri vrhunskih teniških igralcih so se pojavile v področju opazovanja vertikalnega leta žoge in spodnjega dela telesa v fazi izmaha po stiku z žogo. Pri mladinskih igralcih so bile razlike pri opazovanju roke in loparja v fazi priprave na servis in izmetne roke ter bokov v fazi vertikalnega meta žoge.
