The analysis ofthe current situation highlights the concept of safety at work and trends atboth the state level and at the level of state and private forest companies.Special emphasis is given to the key role of the state in the development of an integral approach to safety in forestry. The listed current programs, undertaken with the goal of improving the condition, include the assessment of work techniques of forest workers and the introduction of forestcontractors' licensingČlanek obravnava različne vidike varnosti pri gozdarskem delu v času preoblikovanja in tranzicije gozdarstva na Hrvaškem.
