The polyester composition was varied by changing the unsaturated polyester resins components ratio (mleic anhydride, phthalic anhydride, propylene glycol, diethylene glycol, styrene). Viscosity was determined by rotational viscosimeter, actual composition by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR), molecular weight distribution by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and heat generated during the curing reaction by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The glass transition temperature of cured polyesters was measured by DSC. Measuring tensile properties of cured polyesters and of glass fiber reinforced polyesters the effect of unsaturated polyester resin composition on interaction with glass fiber and consequently on the mechanical propetrties of polyester composites were evaluated. Based on these results, the composition of unsaturated polyester resin with improved interaction with glass fiber was predicted as the most adequate for polyester composites fabrication"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"V delu predstavljamo rezultate raziskave o vplivih sestave in lastnosti nenasičenih polestrskih smol na mehanske in termične lastnosti zamreženih poliestrov in na mehanske lastnosti s steklenimi vlakni ojačenih poliestrskih kompozitov. Sestavo poliestrov smo spreminjali z razmerjem med komponentami nenasičenih poliestrskih smol (mleinanhidrid, ftalanhidrid, propilen glikol, dietilen glikol, stiren). Viskoznost smo določili z rotacijskim viskozimetrom,dejansko sestavo z jedrsko magnetno resonančno spektroskopijo (NMR), porazdelitev molske mase z izključitveno kromatografijo (GPC), sproščeno toploto pri zamreževanju pa z diferenčno dinamično kalorimetrijo (DSC). Zamreženim poliestrom smo z DSC določili tudi temperaturo steklastega prehoda. Z meritvami nateznih lastnosti zamreženih poliestrov in poliestrskih laminatov smo ugotavljali vplive sestave nenasičenih poliestrskih smol na interakcije s steklenimi vlakni in s tem na mehanske lastnosti poliestrskih kompozitov.
