Plasma was generated within a glass tube (internal diameter of 36 mm) with an RF generator at a frequency of 13.56 MHz and an output power of 120 W. The tube was pumped with a roots/rotational pump. At a pressure of 20 Pa the optical spectrum (400-800 nm) consisted of several lines that are characteristic for highly excited molecular and atomic states with potential energies around 15 eV. The highest peak at 777.4 nm corresponds to the atomic transition 3psup5P implies 3ssup5S. Molecular spectra corresponding to transitions in the first negative system of Osub2sup+ ions were also found. Since the electron distribution function was quasi-Maxwellian with an electron temperature of 5 eV, a direct excitation of the observed radiative states was hardly possible. Plazmo smo vzbujali z induktivno vezanim RF-generatorjem (RIZ SW-amp.) s frekvenco 13,56 MHz in izstopno močjo 120 W v stekleni cevi z notranjim premerom 36 mm. Cev smo črpali z dvostopenjsko rotacijsko/Rootsovo črpalko. Delovni tlak kisika je bil 20 Pa. Spekter, ki ga seva plazma pri tem, smo merili s 60 cm optičnim emisijskim spektrometrom MDR23-Lomo. V optičnem delu spektra (med 400 nm in 800 nm) smo opazili visoko vzbujena molekulska in atomska stanja z vzbuditveno energijo okrog 15 eV. Najizrazitejša črta je bila pri valovni dolžini 777,4 nm, ki ustreza prehodu atomov iz stanja 3pna5P v 3sna5S, torej znotraj 2. vzbujenega stanja atomov. V spektru so bili opazni tudi molekularni prehodi v prvem negativnem sistemu ioniziranih kisikovih molekul. Ker je energijska porazdelitev elektronov v plazmi približno maxwellska s povprečno energijo komaj okoli 5 eV, je direktna vzbuditev pri trku elektrona z molekulo v osnovnem stanju malo verjetna.
