The article discusses the state of their protection, as based on the applicable sectoral legislation relating to the prevention of corruption and reporting of irregularities in the banking and financial sectors, as well as from general labour legislation. The author discusses specific aspects of the current protection of whistleblowers in Slovenia, specifically the group of protected persons and the material scope of protection, regulation of internal and external reporting channels, the issue of public disclosure, and individual institutes that protect whistleblowers from retaliation by the employer. In all these aspects, the author is of the opinion that all aspects could be further upgraded with the appropriate implementation of Directive (EU) 2019/1937, which sets only minimum standards of protection</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Posamezniki, ki prijavijo nezakonita ravnanja (t. i. žvižgači), so v Sloveniji posebej zaščiteni le s posamičnimi predpisi, kot delavci oziroma javni uslužbenci pa uživajo splošno delovnopravno varstvo. V prispevku je obravnavano stanje njihove zaščite, kot izhaja iz veljavne področne zakonodaje, ki se nanaša na preprečevanje korupcije in na prijave nepravilnosti v bančnem in finančnem sektorju, ter iz splošne delovne zakonodaje. Avtorica obravnava posamezne vidike sedanje zaščite žvižgačev v Sloveniji, in sicer krog zaščitenih oseb ter materialni obseg zaščite, ureditev notranjih in zunanjih kanalov poročanja, vprašanje razkritja javnosti ter posamezne institute, ki ščitijo žvižgače pred povračilnimi ukrepi delodajalca.
