The purpose of the study is to evaluate the frequency of the sick building syndrome (SBS) symptoms in hospital staff. Methods: A descriptive research method was used. A systematic overview of professional and scientific literature was conducted in the following databases: COBIB.SI, Google Scholar, Digital Library Dlib.si, CIHAHL, Cochrane Library and PubMed. An advanced search was conducted with Boolean logic operators AND / IN, in the combination of keywords: 'sindrom bolnih stavb', 'bolnišnice', 'zdravstveni delavci', 'okoljski dejavniki', 'sick building syndrome', 'hospitals', 'health care workers', 'environmental factors'. From the total of 238 results, 11 articles were included in the final analysis. The PRISMA methodology was used for an overview of databases. A content integrative analysis of research findings was conducted. Results: The findings of the study were grouped into four content categories: (1) the frequency of SBS symptoms, (2) the variety of SBS symptoms, (3) environmental factors associated with the frequency of symptoms of SBS and (4) environmental factors in relation to other factors for the development of SBS. Discussion and conclusion: Research shows that the frequency of SBS symptoms among employees in hospitals is high. Environmental factors are associated with the emergence of SBS symptoms among hospital employees. In Slovenia, a survey should be conducted that would study the effect of environmental factors on the frequency of SBS symptoms in employees in hospitals</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Uvod: Okoljski dejavniki imajo pomembno vlogo pri ohranjanju in krepitvi zdravja. Namen raziskave je bil oceniti pogostost simptomov sindroma bolnih stavb (SBS) pri zaposlenih v bolnišnici. Metode: Uporabljena je bila deskriptivna raziskovalna metoda. Pregled strokovne in znanstvene literature je bil izveden v podatkovnih bazah COBIB.SI, Google Učenjak, Digitalna knjižnica Dlib.si, CIHAHL, Cochrane Library in PubMed. Napredno iskanje je potekalo s pomočjo Boolovih logičnih operaterjev AND / IN, v kombinaciji ključnih besed: "sindrom bolnih stavb", "bolnišnice", "zdravstveni delavci", "okoljski dejavniki", "sick building syndrome", "hospitals", "health care workers", "environmental factors". Rezultati: Ugotovitve raziskave so bile združene v štiri vsebinske kategorije: (1) pogostost simptomov SBS; (2) raznolikost simptomov SBS; (3) okoljski dejavniki v povezavi s pogostostjo simptomov SBS; (4) okoljski dejavniki v povezavi z ostalimi dejavniki za nastanek SBS. V Sloveniji potrebujemo raziskavo, ki bi proučila učinek okoljskih dejavnikov na pogostost simptomov SBS pri zaposlenih v bolnišničnem okolju</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:DOC-5EIIN3GB"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:DOC-5EIIN3GB" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-5EIIN3GB/27545d0d-0104-4e13-a906-bdabb0eca8f9/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Zbornica zdravstvene in babiške nege Slovenije - Zveza strokovnih društev medicinskih sester, babic in zdravstvenih tehnikov Slovenije</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-5EIIN3GB/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-5EIIN3GB" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
