This story, it is argued, unfolds as an allegory of the Enlightenment in which the protagonist gradually acquires a narrative identity for himself. The fact that this identity is grounded in textual heterogeneity rather than coherence proclaims internal difference to be an essential condition for Voltaire's view of the Enlightenment as an ongoing project whose meaning resists being fixed. Conversely, Voltaire's conception of the Enlightenment helps explain his choice of the story as a medium for "performing" reason in narrative action</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Članek raziskuje vlogo pripovednosti v Voltairovi misli, in to prek analize ene njegovih contes philosophiques, L'homme aux quarante écus. In narobe, Voltairova koncepcija razsvetljenstva pomaga razložiti, zakaj je izbral zgodbo kot medij za udejanjanje razuma v pripovednem aktu</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:DOC-4UG5PQOP"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:DOC-4UG5PQOP" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-4UG5PQOP/9d211fba-277f-4adb-a646-d832bf1e7ddf/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Slovensko društvo za primerjalno književnost</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-4UG5PQOP/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:DOC-4UG5PQOP" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
