Different changes occur: leaching of the rock, changing of the mineral composition, hardness, strength and reflectance of the polished stone surface. Investigation of limestone from different Slovenian deposits were made. Upper Triassic limestones with intrabiomicrite to intrabiosparite structure, Upper Cretaceous limestones with biomicrite structure and Upper Cretaceous limestone with structure from biomicrite to biosparite were used. Weathering at the atmospheric conditions was simulated in the laboratory. Wetting of samples in the water or in the water solution of different salts was made at the different temperatures. Results of the microhardness measurements proved that the hardness of the limestone depends on the structure of the limestone. Furthermore, the structure of the limestone changes according to the duration of the weathering, as well"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Propadanje naravnega kamna po vgrajevanju je aktualna tema v tujini kot tudi pri nas. Naravni kamen propada ali prepereva zaradi vremenskih razmer, ki jim je izpostavljen. Pri tem se kamnina topi, spreminja se njena mineralna sestava, trdnost, trdota, odsevna sposobnost polirane površine in druge karakteristike. Seveda je vse to odvisno od okolja, v katerem se kamnina nahaja. V slovenskih razmerah propadanje naravnega kamna še ni preiskano. V našo preiskavo so bili zajeti apnenci iz različnih slovenskih nahajališč: Hotavlje, Lipica I, Lipica II in Doline. Ti so: zgornjetriasna apnenca z intrabiomikrosparitno strukturo, zgornjekredna apnenca z biomikritno strukturo in zgornjekredni apnenec z mešano strukturo, od biomikritne do biosparitne. Preperevanje v naravnih okoljih smo v laboratoriju simulirali tako, da smo vzorce, namočene v destilirani vodi ali vodni raztopini soli, izmenično ogrevali in ohlajali. Rezultati merjenja mikrotrdote kažejo, da na trdoto apnenca vpliva njegova struktura.
