V obeh jeklarnah se od januarja 1997 skoraj vedno za večino šarž izvaja merjenje kisika s kisikovimi sondami v električni obločni peči (EOP) tik pred prebodom. Vsebnost aktivnega kisika se uporablja bodisi za kontrolo ogljika ali za uspešno izvajanje dezoksidacije jekla in določevanje količine zlitin.
