The doctoral thesis presents the processes, the developed methodologies for optimizations, and simulations of the use of modern vehicles in terms of reducing energy use and greenhouse gas emissions. There are currently 26 concessionaires operating in the national public passenger transport system in the Republic of Slovenia, which operate at an annual level of 48 million kilometers with 1100 vehicles. Therefore, the results of this work represent an important contribution in terms of the efficiency of the management of this system</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Sistem upravljanja in kontroliranja izvajanja javnega potniškega prometa temelji na koncesijskih pogodbah in relacijah med upravljavcem (Ministrstvo za infrastrukturo) in prevozniki. V doktorskem delu so predstavljeni procesi ter razvite metodologije optimizacij in simulacije uporabe sodobnih vozil z vidika zmanjšanja uporabe energije in emisij toplogrednih plinov.
