Although the effluents from this can be discharged directly there is an increasing interest in industrial water reuse. This requires further water treatment. Here we studied the technical and economic feasibility of adding an ultrafiltration process as a pretreatment to remove all substances > 0.4 Žm and to prevent membrane foulingbefore a final reverse osmosis process resulting in permeate that wouldmeet reuse criteria. The results show that the UF-RO treatment removed above 95 % of the contaminants from the effluent which is sufficient for reusein the studied metal finishing process. We performed an economic feasibility analysis based on a reuse capacity for 30.000 m3/year of treated water for two selected production lines at the Gorenje facility at Velenje, Slovenia. Comparing the current water with the investment required to implement the UF-RO processes our analysis shows that there is a potential forimplementing this process in the metal finishing industry"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Ustaljen način obdelave odpadne vode iz kovinske industrije na splošno temelji na fizikalno-kemijski obdelavi. Čeprav se lahko očiščene odpadne vode neposredno odvajajo, obstaja v tej panogi vse večje zanimanje za ponovno uporabo vode. To zahteva dodatno obdelavo na običajen način očiščene odpadne vode. V tem prispevku smo raziskali tehnično in ekonomsko izvedljivost postopka s procesom ultrafiltracije kot predobdelave, s katero odstranimo vse snovi, večje od 0,4 mikrometra, kar preprečuje zamašitev membran pred končnim procesompovratne osmoze, s katero pridobimo permeat, ki izpolnjuje merila za ponovno uporabo. Rezultati kažejo, da s postopkom obdelave UF in RO odstranimo nad 95 % onesnaževalcev iz odpadne vode, kar zadošča za ponovno uporabo v obravnavanih postopkih površinske obdelave kovin. Opravili smo tudi analizo ekonomske izvedljivosti, ki je temeljila na zmogljivosti ponovne uporabe za 30.000 m3 očiščene vode/leto za dve izbrani proizvodni liniji v podjetju Gorenje v Velenju.
