Scientific studies, manuals, anatomical atlases, and other materials, which are kept at the National and University Library of Slovenia, and the Seminary Library represent the development of anatomy from the first known systematic attempts to discover the structure and functioning of the human body until the 20th century. The authors of the works feature many world-famous and renowned names such as Hippocrates, Galenus, Avicenna, Mesue, Vesalius, Bartholin, Eustahius, Hunter, and Zinn, as well as two local authors - Alojzij Homan and Janez Plečnik, who significantly contributed to the development of anatomy in Slovenia.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Numerous handwritten notes and additions on front pages and on the margins of the exhibited books bear witness to a strong interest in medicine and anatomy in today's Slovenian territory throughout history. Many of the books presented were once owned by important individuals and institutions.&lt;/div&gt;</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">&lt;div&gt;V zbirki so nekatera vplivnejša dela s področja anatomije, ki so bila leta 2015 predstavljena v Narodni in univerzitetni knjižnici na razstavi &lt;a href="http://www.dlib.si/razstave/anatomija/"&gt;Ko mrtvi žive uče&lt;/a&gt;. Znanstvene študije, priročniki, anatomski atlasi in drugo gradivo, ki ga hranita NUK in Semeniška knjižnica, kažejo na razvoj področja, ki sega od prvih znanih poskusov sistematičnega spoznavanja zgradbe in delovanja človekovega telesa vse do 20. stoletja. Na ogled so dela številnih svetovno znanih imen, kot so Hipokrat, Galen, Avicenna, Mesue, Vesalij, Bartholin, Evstahij, Hunter in Zinn, pa tudi dveh domačih avtorjev, ki sta pomembno prispevala k razvoju anatomije na Slovenskem: Alojzij Homan in Janez Plečnik.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;O tem, da je bilo zanimanje za medicino oziroma anatomijo na današnjem slovenskem ozemlju še kako živo tudi v preteklosti, pričajo tudi lastniške zabeležke in drugi rokopisni dodatki na naslovnih straneh, spojnih listih in ob robu besedila predstavljenih knjig.
