ALLIED MILITARY GOVERNMENT British - United States Zone-Free Territory of Trieste Order No. 19 PAYMENT OF CHRISTMAS BONUS {„THIRTEENTH MONTH’S EARNINGS “) TO DOMESTIC SERVANTS WHEREAS it is considered advisable to provide for payment of the Christmas Bonus („thirteenth month's earnings“) to domestic servants, in that part of the Free Territory of Trieste administered by the British-United States Forces, NOW, THEREFORE, I, SIR JOHN WINTERTON, KCMG, CB, CBE, Major General, Zone Commander, ORDER: ARTICLE I All domestic servants shall be entitled to a Christmas Bonus („thirteenth month’s earnings“), equal in amount to one month’s •wage in money, to be paid within the month of December of each year commencing from 1953. Domestic servants not employed for a full year are entitled to receive the bonus in proportion to the length of their employment, that is, a bonus equal to a twelfth part of one month’s wage in money multiplied by the number of months of their employment. ARTICLE II The Bonus established in Article I of this Order shall be paid before 31 March 1954 in respect of the year 1953. WINTERTON Major General Ref.: LD/A/S4/9 Zone Commander PROVISIONS IN FAVOUR OF THE SHIP BUILDING INDUSTRY AMENDMENTS TO ORDER No. 77/1953 WHEREAS in order to complete the ship-building program agreed upon by the Mixed Commission during the meetings held in January 1953, it is considered advisable to make further provisions in favour of the ship-building industry, in that part of the Free Territory of Trieste administered by the British-United States Forces, NOW, THEREFORE, I, SIR JOHN WINTERTON, KCMG, CB, CBE, Major General, Zone Commander, ORDER: ARTICLE I A new time limit of ten days as from the effective date of this Order is hereby granted for the filing of the applications for admission to the benefits provided for by Articles I and II of Order No. 77, dated 16 May 1953. ARTICLE II Within the limits of the aggregate expenditure taken into consideration for ship-building as provided for by Order No. 77/1953, the Directorate of Finance and Economics may, upon concordant opinion of the Technical Advisory Commission set up in terms of Article XVI of the above mentioned Order, grant the benefits also in derogation of the principles established in same Order No. 77/1953.
