Army Director General, Civil Affairs Order No. 120 CESSATION OF THE EFFICACY OF LAW 7 APRIL 1941, No. 266, AND SUBSEQUENT AMENDMENTS WHEREAS it is deemed advisable and necessary to provide for the cessation of the efficacy of the provisions contained in law 7 April 1941, No. 266 and subsequent amendments thereto, concerning the economic treatment of the crews of ships captured by the enemy or lost or ' sheltered in foreign ports or in those of Italian East Africa as a consequence of the war, within that Zone of the Free Territory of Trieste administered by the British-United States Forces, NOW, THEREFORE, I, RIDGELY GAITHER, Brigadier General U. S. Army, Director General, Civil Affairs, ORDER: ARTICLE I The provisions contained in law 7 April 1941, No. 266 and in the relative Regulations approved by R. D. 22 May 1942, No. 880, and subsequent amendments thereto, shall cease to be operative in respect of seamen not yet repatriated on the effective date of this Order. ARTICLE II The Department of Social Assistance of Allied Military Government shall authorize payment of the allowances provided by law 7 April 1941, No. 266, to the seamen proving that their non-repatriation was due to reasons not chargeable against them.
