Darko Štrajn graduated in philosophy and sociology, Faculty of Arts – University in Ljubljana. He was heading the programme in education­ al research at the Educational Research Institute from 1999 to 2014. He is also the professor of philosophy, lecturing on methodology of human­ ities and film theory at the graduate School for Studies in Humanities (ISH) in Ljubljana. His research comprises topics such as education and social change, politics, aesthetics and media. His last book under the title From Benjamin to the End of Cinema (available on­ line) was pub­ lished in 2017. Urška Štremfel Je doktorica politoloških znanosti in znanstvena sodelavka na Pedagoškem inštitutu, pri svojem raziskovalnem delu pa sodeluje tudi v Centru za poli­ tološke raziskave na Fakulteti za družbene vede Univerze v Ljubljani. Njen znanstvenoraziskovalni interes predstavlja evropsko sodelovanje na področju izobraževanja in njegov vpliv na nacionalni izobraževalni pros­ tor. V tem okviru posebno pozornost namenja vlogi mednarodnih ra­ ziskav pri oblikovanju slovenske izobraževalne politike in izobraževalnih praks slovenskih šol ter razvoju na podatkih temelječega izobraževanja. Urška Štremfel, PhD, is a research fellow at the Educational Research Institute in Ljubljana and part­ time research fellow at the Centre for Political Science Research at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana. Her research interests include the European aspects of policy analysis, especially new modes of EU. In that framework she has devoted special attention to the role international comparative assessment studies play in development of Slovenian education policies and practices and the development of evidence­ based education. Maša Vidmar Je raziskovalka na Pedagoškem inštitutu (Ljubljana, Slovenija) in docent­ ka psihologije na Univerzi v Mariboru. Raziskovalno delo, ki ga opravlja, se uvršča na področji pedagoške in razvojne psihologije. Njena strokovna znanja zajemajo predvsem socialne in čustvene vidike učenje in poučevan­ ja, vključno z odnosno kompetenco in njenim merjenjem ter odnosom med socialnim vedenjem in učnimi dosežki. Njeni raziskovalni intere­ si segajo tudi na področje predšolske vzgoje. Trenutno je vključena v več nacionalnih in mednarodnih projektov. Maša Vidmar is a researcher at the Educational Research Institute and a docent (assistant professor) of psychology at the University of Maribor. Her research work is grounded in educational and developmental psy­ chology. Her expertise lay in social and emotional aspects of learning and teaching, including relational competence and its measurement, relations of social behaviour with academic achievement. Her research interests in­ clude also early childhood education and care. She is currently involved in several national and international projects. She regularly publishes jour­ nal articles, book chapters, books and conference papers. Manja Veldin Je raziskovalka na Pedagoškem inštitutu. Je univerzitetna diplomira­ na psihologinja in doktorska študentka eksperimentalne psihologije na Filozofski fakulteti. Sodelovala je s Centrom za psihodiagnostična sred­ stva, Svetovalnico Kameleon, v študiji »Kvaliteta življenja bolnikov po presaditvi ledvice« in slovenskemu projektu: Pojasnjevanje učinkovitosti reševanja problemov s področja trojne narave predstavitev naravoslovnih pojmov.
