Šolo so dobili leta 1908. Abstract The article presents exercise books in the Koper/Capodistria Regional Archives and exercise books from between 1909 and 1975, which were in 2012 exhibited at the exhibi- tion marking the hundred years since the building of the school in Rakitovec in Istra, close to the border with Croatia. The school was completed in 1908 and it performed its function until 1975, caught between the Aus- trian, Italian and Yugoslav authorities. An exercise book from 1909 is the only written source found so far that attests to lessons in Slovenian, as before that year the school had been Croatian. After 1924 it became Italian and after World War Two again Slovenian. In the 1960s local women used to go to work in the nearby Trieste and pupils also had Italian exercise books, but the teacher banned them from the school. * Mirjana Kontestabile Rovis, prof. zgodovine, diplomirani šolski pedagog, arhivska svetovalka, Pokrajinski arhiv Koper, e-pošta: mirjana.kontestabile@arhiv-koper.si
