Evharistična skrivnost
Posebno češčenje evharistije zunaj maše se je začelo širiti v 11. stoletju. Brez dvoma je bilo odgovor tistim, ki so tajili Kristusovo resnično in trajno navzočnost pod podobo posvečenega kruha in vina. Hkrati pa je bilo nekako nadomestilo za vse redkejše prejemanje obhajila. Praznik, ki so ga ponekod uvajali, je bil le eden izmed oblik tega češčenja. Neposredno pobudo za uvedbo posebnega praznika je dala redovnica Julijana iz Liegea na osnovi zasebnega razodetja, v katerem ji je Kristus naročil, naj vse stori, da bi bil praznik vpeljan. Tamkajšnji škof Robert je leta 1246 odredil obha-janje slovesnega praznika v čast Sv. Rešnjemu Telesu in sicer v četrtek v osmini praznika Sv. Trojice. Papež Urban IV. pa je leta 1264 določil, naj se praznik obhaja tudi v Rimu. Na ozemlju Slovenije so praznik poznali že zelo zgodaj. Oglejska Cerkev ga je sprejela že leta 1254. Pozneje se je širilo in postalo priljubljena ljudska slovesnost. Procesija v začetku ni bila sestavni del praznika, vendar so jo ponekod imeli že v 13. stoletju.
Kristus si je izbral kruh kot simbol za svoje telo, kot znak svoje prisotnosti med nami. Kruh, ki predstavlja delo človeških rok in njegov napor. Ta kruh ima okus človeškega znoja. Pridelan je v delavniku, da se ob nedeljah spremeni v najžlahtnejšo božjo hrano. Tako se človeško delo posvečuje, spreminja in postaja znak naše vere in povezanosti človeka z Bogom. To je okus božjega v človeških rokah. Sadovi zemlje se zato po človeških rokah spreminjajo v božje telo.
Moramo jesti, da bi lahko živeli. Tudi življenje v ljubezni in veri se mora hraniti. Ne živimo zato, da bi jedli, pač pa jemo, da bi lahko živeli. Moramo jesti, da nam ne zmanjka življenjske moči, da živimo v ljubezni tudi takrat, ko je človeško govoreče to skoraj nemogoče. Evharistija ni nagrada za naše lepo življenje, ampak je nujnost. Evharistija ni zapoved, ampak čast za nas. Mnogi pa danes tiščijo v »gladovni stavki«. Nahranjeni s tem kruhom bomo lažje stopili v vsakdanjik svojega življenja. Z njim bomo močni in nepremagljivi. Zoreli bomo v ljubezn medsebojnih odnosov. Zoreli bomo za večno žetev.

An old man remembered the days of his childhood. He had been an altar boy and often served Mass in the early morning before school. Every time he came into the church as the day was beginning he looked up to the sanctuary and saw the lamplight aglow, red and yellow. He then felt it strongly: this is no empty building. Here the Lord lives, and the boy knew himself to be in the presence of God. At school the boy had learned about the Mass and how bread and wine became the body and blood of the Lord, and that at communion time he received into himself, into his heart's core, the gift of Christ himself.
On Sundays the church was full of people, people he knew very well. He saw them every day on the street and in school. Now gathered

in church they were one family together. They felt proud to belong to one another. Their common life, at school or at work or at play, was brought together here at Mass. There was a sense of belonging to one another and that was a lovely feeling. Presence, sacred food and company - what great gifts to have at the start of life!
Gospel Teaching
When life begins for any of us those first gifts are the ones we need. We need the presence of those who love us. We need the daily nourishment of food so that we may grow strong. And we need the joy and the interest and the stimulus of others, wider family and friends to introduce us to the world.
When the Lord began to form his own family, his community of disciples, his first gift to them was his very presence. They lived with him night and day. Each day they grew in their understanding of him and of who he was. His presence inspired them and gave them joy and hope for life. He fed them with every word he said and the people flocked to hear what he would say. This word truly was nourishing to their lives. A new company was born into the world, the followers of Christ, and it was the word of Jesus and the presence of Jesus that nourished and formed this family. His crowning gift to them on the night he was betrayed was to give them himself in a sacred sign, in bread and wine. His pres-
ence among us would now take the form of a sacred and sacrificial meal, a sacramental gift to bind his Church together. Present in these sacred signs, in his word and in bread and wine, the Lord would preserve and nourish his Church throughout the ages. His followers, now called his friends, indeed his brothers and sisters, would become the living presence of the Lord in the world.
Application
St Paul, writing to the Galatians, said of his own life, "I live now not with my own life but with the life of Christ who lives in me." This is the life that the Lord invites us constantly to live. By receiving the body and blood of Christ into ourselves we can become part of that living Lord in this world. The first manifestation of this is our human presence to others. To be present to others is a simple and powerful act of self-giving. To be present to others in an attentive and kindly manner is to allow the grace of the Lord to be there at work in the world.
The second manifestation of Christ is in our speaking. Whenever our words are kind and thoughtful, patient and understanding, then the word of God is alive and active through us. People's lives are nourished by the words they hear from us.
The third gift of Christ to the world comes through the sharing of love and affection, kindness and consideration. The company of the Lord, his friends, live by this spirit.
And so the feast of Corpus Christi is the feast of life's fullness. The presence of the Lord among us, the gift of himself in the holy sacrament, and the joy of being part of his company, the Church, is what we celebrate today: gathered together, fed by his word and sent out into the world. As the altar boy knew long ago, the Church is no empty building. Here the Lord lives among us.

famine relief fund_
This week, Bishop Douglas Crosby, OMI, Bishop of Hamilton and President of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, together with other Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Sikh and Baha'i faith communities launched a national appeal to address the famines in South Sudan and the extreme food shortages in Yemen, Northeast Nigeria and Somalia.
Ali pastors are asked to encourage their parishioners to support this initiative and provide them with the contact information so that the parishioners can make donations directly to one of the recognized Canadian Charities. Bishop Crosby is not authorizing a special collection for this purpose.
Contributions made to one of these agencies before J une 30, 20 17 will be matched by the Government of Canada with its recently announced Famine Relief Fund. Donations after June 30111 will also be welcome.

slovenski dan - lipa park_
V soboto, 24. junija 2017, praznujemo Slovenski dan. Gostitelj letošnjega Slovenskega dneva je društvo Lipa park. Tam se bomo zbrali dopodlne ob 11:00 a.m. in začeli naše praznovanje z daritvijo svete maše. Pri maši bo pel župnijski mešani zbor in moški zbor Majolka. Predsedniki društev bodo sodelovanju pri branju prošenj, člani parka pa bodo brali berila in prinesli darove.
Po maši bo kosilo in ob dveh popoldne se bo začel kulturni program. Okrog štirih se bodo odvijale tudi »Olimpijske igre« za otroke, obenem pa tudi družabno popoldne ob zvokih ansambla »ŠIBAJ«.
Vabljeni, da se v čim večjem številu udeležite tega slovenskega praznovanja. Naj bo to zopet dan prijateljskega druženja in ohranjanja slovenske identitete.

V soboto, 11. junija 2017, v Sloveniji v Stopercah (Ptuj) v 59. letu starosti, odšel k Bogu po večno plačilo SLAVKO BEDENIK. Pokojni je nečak Marije Štern. Pogreb je bil v četrtek, 15. junija v Stopercah. Zanj smo darovali sveto mašo v nedeljo, 18. junija.
V četrtek, 16. junija 2017, smo zopet namestili na svoje mesto ograjo, ki je bila v barvanju. Sedaj je celotna ograja narejena tako, da v bodoče ne bo težav, če bo potrebovala novo zaščito.
Še enkrat hvala Ignacu Prši za organizacijo in prostovoljcem za pomoč pri izvedbi projekta.
