Izvleček/Abstract Zlati rez je pojem, ki ‘e tiso~letja zaposluje znanstvenike razli~nih podro~ij. Johannes Kepler pi{e, da ima geometrija dva velika bisera. Prvi je Pitagorov izrek in drugi je zlati rez. Prvega lahko primerjamo s ~istim zlatom, drugega pa z draguljem neprecenljive vrednosti. Kljub temu da se da vrednost zlatega reza numeri~no izraziti le v pribli‘kih, podobno kot velja za {tevilo ∏, je vsestransko zaznaven na vseh podro~jih ~love{kega ustvarjanja. V umetnosti je simbol urejenosti ter pomeni skladnost merske kompozicije likovne stvaritve. Zlati rez pomeni proporcijski klju~ zasnove kompozicije v arhitekturi od antike naprej in je aktualen {e danes. Matematiki se z njim ukvarjajo ‘e tiso~letja in je osrednji problem ustvarjanja v geometriji. V dana{njem ~asu imamo na razpolago ogromno znanja, ki pa je razpr{eno po razli~nih podro~jih ~lovekovega ustvarjanja in po razli~nih znanstvenih disciplinah. To onemogo~a vpogled v celoto, znanstvene ugotovitve in informacije pa ostajajo znotraj ozko do-lo~enih strokovnih krogov. K tej zaprtosti prispevajo {e razli~ni izrazni pomeni v znanstveni oziroma umetni{ki terminologiji. V sklop prizadevanj po skupnem povezovanju znanja in po sodelovanju med razli~nimi, na prvi pogled zelo oddaljenimi strokovnimi podro~ji, sodi tudi razprava o zlatem rezu. S to razpravo se udejanja prete-kanje znanj in sodelovanje med umetniki, arhitekti in in‘enirji lesarji. The golden mean (or golden section) is a concept, which has occupied scientists in different fields for thousands of years. Johannes Kepler claims that geometry has two big pearls. The first one is the Pythagoras’ theorem and the other one is the golden mean. The former may be compared to pure gold and the latter to an invaluable precious stone. In spite of this the value of the golden mean may be numerically expressed only in approximations, similar to those for the number pi (∏), and yet it is universally present in all areas of human creativeness. In art it is the symbol of order and it represents the harmony of composition of measurement in fine arts. The golden mean is the proportional key of compositional design in architecture since ancient times and is a timely topic even today. Mathematicians dealt with it for thousands of years and it is the dominant problem of creativeness in geometry. Today we have available enormous knowledge, however it is dissipated over various areas of human creative-ness and over various scientific disciplines. This way it makes it impossible to achieve an insight into the whole, and scientific discoveries and information remain inside narrow determined professional circles. Different meanings of expression in scientific and art terminology, respectively contribute to this unavailability. Discussion on the golden mean is also associated with the efforts to the mutual interconnection of knowledge and cooperation between various professional areas that seem very distant at first sight. With this discussion, the flow or the knowledge and cooperation between artists-architect and lumber engineers is realised.
